Christian Horner's sudden departure as head of Red Bull in July has reportedly reignited tensions between his wife Geri Horner and her Spice Girls bandmates. The scandal emerged as the group prepares to mark their 30th anniversary, with speculation about a documentary and possible tour.
Horner was cleared of wrongdoing after a female employee accused him of “inappropriate, controlling behaviour” in 2023. However, sources claim Geri felt humiliated by the allegations and has lost some of her influence within the group. An insider told The Sun: “Geri’s still embarrassed by all the Christian allegations, and feels she’s lost some of the power she had.”
The same source added that Geri has always maintained a slight distance from the other Spice Girls, stemming from her departure during their 1998 world tour. “There’s always been that slight distance between her and the rest of them,” the insider said, describing Geri as “quite selfish” and someone who “likes to be the one in control.”
Despite the rift, the group has hinted at plans for their 30th anniversary. Victoria Beckham expressed interest in a one-off show at Las Vegas’s Sphere venue, ruling out a full tour. Melanie C confirmed discussions are underway but noted that not all members are fully on board, saying, “Sometimes other people need a little bit more convincing.”
