Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote confirms she is single after marriage split

Former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote has spoken publicly for the first time about the end of her marriage to Kris Evans. The 34-year-old, who played Katy Armstrong on the ITV soap, confirmed her single status during a Q&A session with fans on social media.

Foote's marriage to musician Kris Evans was reported to have ended in July last year. She removed her wedding ring and deleted photographs from their wedding day from her Instagram account. A source told The Sun at the time: "Georgia's marriage to Kris seems to be over. It's on the rocks. She's looking to the future and is surrounded by friends and her family."

The couple, who married in 2023 at a log-cabin style venue, remained living together in their matrimonial home after the split. Another source explained: "Georgia has been through a lot recently and it's not surprising that it has put strain on her marriage. She told friends she wanted a fresh start after the terrible fire earlier this year and she's just not sure where Kris fits into that. They are still on good enough terms to stay in their home together."

Reflecting on the past year, Foote described it as the "worst year I've ever had in my life." Sharing a collection of photographs and videos on social media, she wrote: "I couldn't catch a break, thank god for my friends and family. This has been one of the worst years I've ever experienced. And I know this because literally I couldn't find a single happy period to even post about."

Foote portrayed Katy Armstrong on Coronation Street from 2010 to 2015 and later competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015, finishing as runner-up with professional partner Giovanni Pernice.
