Georgia Horsley, wife of McFly star Danny Jones, has candidly admitted that she doesn't 'always love being a mum', sharing her honest feelings about the challenges of parenthood. The 39-year-old former Miss England made the confession on her podcast, Mum's the Word!, which she co-hosts with Kelsey Parker.
Speaking about raising her eight-year-old son Cooper, Georgia revealed that one of the toughest moments is when a child falls ill and forces plans to be cancelled. 'Do you know when I don't love being a mum? ... When you've got something really exciting planned and it's been in the diary for ages, and then your kid gets sick,' she said. 'I just feel a real unfairness, and I feel terrible for feeling it, but I think it's just a normal way to feel.'
Georgia also admitted to struggling with helping Cooper with his homework, saying, 'Honestly, some of the English stuff, these words... I have to Google what all these words mean. It's bloody hard.' She emphasised the importance of having a support network of other mums who can share their own experiences, such as a WhatsApp group where they can be honest about the difficulties of parenting.
The confession comes just over a year after her marriage to Danny, 40, was rocked by a kiss scandal involving I'm a Celebrity campmate Maura Higgins. The couple, who have been married since 2014, worked through the crisis privately, with Danny publicly apologising to his wife and family. Despite the upheaval, Georgia stressed that her love for Cooper is unwavering, but added, 'It's fine to not always love being a parent. I think 100% of the population don't always love it.'
