Strictly Come Dancing viewers have voiced frustration over the judges' scoring of George Clarke, claiming the feedback does not match the marks given. The YouTube star and his professional partner Alexis Warr performed a cha cha to Charli XCX's 'Apple' during Saturday's Halloween special, scoring 29 points out of 40.
Despite praise from the judges—Shirley Ballas told George he 'doesn't realise how good he is' and Anton Du Beke urged him to believe in himself—fans noted the scores did not reflect the positive comments. One viewer wrote: 'The judging of George’s dances always confuses me because why big him up but backtrack when the scoring happens?'
Others felt George was being 'let down' by song choices and choreography. A fan commented: 'I fear George has been let down with a very loose concept forced by that song choice.' Another added: 'After seeing the rest of the performances tonight, it’s confirmed for me George has been done over again. Awful song and choreography that didn’t showcase the dance skills he DOES have.'
George had fallen to the bottom of the leaderboard the previous week with a jive to Harry Styles' 'As It Was'. His Halloween score was two points higher, but some viewers believe the judges are overly critical. One supporter said: 'This guy is far far better than he is given credit for… The judges need to stop picking on him!'
