Gemma Collins Says Towie Bosses Beg Her to Return but She Has Moved On

Gemma Collins, 44, has become one of The Only Way Is Essex's biggest success stories since joining the show in 2011. Now engaged to businessman Rami Hawash, the reality TV star has gone on to appear in I'm A Celebrity, Celebrity Big Brother, Dancing on Ice and Celebs Go Dating, as well as her own series, Gemma Collins: Diva. She is now set to return to screens in what she calls 'two major' new shows, and is already planning more work for 2027.

Despite the busy schedule, Gemma admits that Towie producers have been calling her 'all the time' about a potential return. However, she says that ship has sailed. 'Look, I’m very fond of the show and it’s what made me. It’s the show that got me my beautiful home, but we do all move on in life. And I have moved on,' she explained.

Gemma is also gearing up for her wedding to Rami, who proposed in February last year. She says she has finally found the perfect balance between work and family life, including being a stepmum to Rami's seven-year-old son Tristan. 'I can mix career and family these days. I’ve just enjoyed being a stepmum and a normal girl for a bit, because I hadn’t had that for so many years,' she said.

The reality star says she held off having a family for years because she was so career-focused, but now feels ready to combine both sides of her life. 'Now I’m ready to come back and I can combine the family version of myself and the career version to give people the real authentic me, not someone who is fake,' she added.

As for the wedding, Gemma plans to hire a wedding planner. 'They’ll take care of it. I’ll just say, “Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no.” That’s it. But I’m really excited, of course I am,' she said.
