Gemma Collins on IVF Struggle: 'Not Going Very Well'

Gemma Collins has revealed that her attempt to conceive a baby through IVF is 'not going very well,' as she prepares to share her journey in a new Sky Max series, Four Weddings and a Baby, airing later this year.

Gemma's IVF Journey Revealed in New Series

The eight-part series, set to premiere in September, follows the former The Only Way is Essex star over the course of a year, documenting her daily life as she plans her wedding and pursues her dream of having a child. According to the synopsis, viewers will see 'the Gemma you haven’t seen before' as she juggles a blended family, wedding planning, and IVF.

Announcing the series on Instagram, Collins wrote: 'Can’t believe the news is finally out about my new series with @skytv. This time it’s different. I’m putting my heart on the line no filters, no walls, just the real me. You’ll see the real Gemma Collins behind the GC as I take on the biggest chapter of my life.'

Emotional Toll and Personal Struggles

Collins admitted the journey has been difficult. 'I’m trying to have a baby, but let’s see. It’s not going very well at the minute,' she said, as reported by the Mirror. The filming process coincided with personal hardships, including her mother falling ill with pneumonia. 'During making the show my mum nearly died, my relationship was obviously taking a bit of a hit, I was trying to have a baby - my whole world just fell apart,' Collins shared. 'Because I was going through so much trauma and struggles, there was no performative person there. Everyone gets to see the real me - you’re in my home. It’s what people don’t see. I was broken.'

Wedding Plans and Blended Family

Collins is engaged to Rami Hawash, who proposed in the Maldives. The couple plans to marry this year, with Collins hinting at a winter wedding. She is also stepmother to Hawash's seven-year-old son, Tristan. The series will follow her journey toward becoming a mother through IVF.

Recent TV Appearances

Earlier this year, Collins was eliminated from I'm a Celebrity South Africa alongside David Haye in a double elimination. She quickly became a fan favorite, determined to overcome her previous 2014 stint on the ITV jungle, where she quit after 72 hours. During the show, she formed a close bond with actor Adam Thomas, supporting him as he dealt with psoriatic arthritis.
