Gemma Collins blasts 'fake celebs', says she has four real friends

Gemma Collins has revealed she can only count four celebrities as her real friends after 15 years in the industry, blasting the 'fake' famous faces she has spent years mixing with. The reality star, 45, made the admission during a recent podcast appearance, where she was asked if she had "come across a lot of fake people," given that she is known for being "so real."

'I don't mix with anyone'

"Yeah. I don't mix with anyone," she said. The TV star, known by her persona The GC, added: "I ain't got time for a*s licks, and I will never a*s lick. At the end of the day, you're a fool if you think you've got friends in this business. It's show business, not show... friends."

Speaking to Scott, Ryan and Adam Thomas on their At Home With The Thomas Bros podcast, she commented: "Obviously I've got some TOWIE friends. And Dawn Ward. Love Dawn, absolutely love her. You and DJ Fat Tony."

Four friends in TV

"You are all real. Yes. I obviously get invited to lots of parties. I'm not interested. I'd rather be at home with my family," she said. Gemma cohabits with her fiancé, Rami Hawash, 49. She commented: "With my real friends. I've made four friends since being in TV and that's how it stays. I can't bear seeing the ass licks. They are so, you know, you know."

Actor Ryan responded: "Yeah, we know how it show that you're a good egg and you're genuine. So you spot them a mile off. If they're not like us, then they're going to stand out, aren't they?" To which Gemma added: "I don't want to be around the a*s licks. I've got enough about me. I'm all right on my own. Do you know what I mean? So, I find it very sickening. Yeah."

I'm A Celebrity clash

Gemma, however, failed to mention her two close friends, Jedward, with whom she often spends time at her home in Essex. She did, however, acknowledge the clash between Adam, David Haye and Jimmy Bullard on I'm A Celebrity earlier this year. Adam and Jimmy came to blows when the former footballer pulled out of a Bushtucker Trial, which could have resulted in Adam being sent home. Adam launched into a rant which almost cost them both their time on the show. Meanwhile, David faced accusations of "bullying" Adam and branding him useless after he couldn't participate in a trial due to a medical condition.

"Did you feel for Adam when you were in there? Did you feel anything bad was happening or anything?" Scott asked Gemma, to which she replied: "They took the p***. I actually got on really well with Jimmy. I just don't know what happened, but it happened. It's in the past now. We send them love and we wish him well."

She went on to comment: "My gut feeling will always lead the way. And I think, you know, when you're younger, you get these strong feelings. My mum was very psychic. She did the tarot and everything. And I can remember being at home with my mum and we was in her bedroom one day and the shoe boxes were flying across, all mad stuff and my mum was very into it all. And I just think, obviously, she gave birth to me. It's in me. Yeah." Gemma's beloved mum, Joan, died aged 70 on July 29, this year, having battled pneumonia.
