I'm A Celebrity South Africa star Gemma Collins' feud with Sinitta is set to continue as she will be seen calling out Simon Cowell on the ITV series. The TOWIE icon is currently taking part in the Ant and Dec series for the second time, having famously left the regular version after just 72 hours in 2014.
After the main camp were reunited with those in Savannah Scrub, Gemma was quizzed by Sinitta about being cast in a production of Chicago back in 2022. Gemma pulled out of the tour with a knee injury before it began after she was cast in the role of Mama Morton, which Sinitta previously played.
“But what happened with Chicago? You were supposed to follow me as Mama Morton,” Sinitta asked. Gemma replied: “I had a terrible injury… it was something to do with the insurance.” Sinitta continued: “I’m sorry, but I’m going to admit it, when I heard you were going to do it, I thought it was a joke announcement.”
Insisting that you don’t get ‘cast as Mama Morton in Chicago if you didn't pass the audition’, Gemma soon went for a lie down to avoid further conflict. Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, she reiterated that she’s not a joke.
In scenes set to air on Friday night, the celebrities will be seen agreeing that they’re happy in camp not having their mobile phones. Gemma brings up understanding why Simon Cowell doesn’t have a phone, and mentions that Sinitta has to go through two PAs to reach him. Sinitta notes that they’ve been ‘on and off for 40 years’.
Reflecting in the Bush Telegraph, Gemma says: “She was in an on and off relationship with him for over 40 years and when Sinitta rings he replies and says ‘I’ll call you tomorrow Sinitta’. I mean, if someone did that to me, they’d be blocked, scrubbed off the Christmas card list and yeah, I ain't waiting around for no man to call me back.”
