GB News presenter Patrick Christys appeared on air with a noticeable bruise on his forehead on Tuesday, July 21, after a playful mishap with his young son. The 34-year-old father of one shared the story on X, formerly Twitter, just hours before hosting his late-night show.
How the Bruise Happened
Christys explained that he had been trying to make his 10-month-old son laugh by sticking a green suction toy to his head and then ripping it off. He repeated the action for about five minutes before checking his reflection and discovering a purple heart-shaped bruise.
He wrote: "I realised I could make my 10-month-old son laugh if I stuck that green toy to my head and then ripped it off. Did it solidly for about 5 minutes…then I looked in the mirror. Probably worth it for the giggles but I’m going to have to lay the make-up on thick tonight on @GBNEWS."
Fans React
Viewers quickly responded to the post, joking about the situation. One user commented: "I'm tuning in just to see the blob on your forehead. Oh, the conversations that's going to be had with you trying to explain that one hahahahahaha." Another said: "Parenting successful. Just continue to do random humiliating things for him for the next 15 years, and you're sorted lol." A third recalled a similar experience: "I did the same thing over 30 years ago with a pump sucker from a pair of Reebok trainers. Never lived it down! You'll be using concealer for the next week."
Previous On-Air Segment
The lighthearted moment follows a more serious segment in which Christys confronted a small-boat migrant live on air. The migrant, a professional MMA fighter, expressed gratitude for the support received in the UK, saying: "I like it very much. They are helping us; they provide everything that we need." However, some viewers expressed frustration, with one calling the situation an "absolute joke" and another stating that "giving away houses to people that arrive here illegally is just outrageous."
