Coronation Street: Gail Platt's Return 'Sealed' as Sarah's Prison Exit 'Confirmed'
Gail Platt's Return Sealed as Sarah's Prison Exit Confirmed

Coronation Street fans are predicting a legend’s comeback after spoilers confirmed Sarah Platt is sent to prison for Theo Silverton’s murder. In April, abuser Theo (James Cartwright) was murdered after his reign of terror over Todd (Gareth Pierce) was exposed, sparking another whodunnit on the long-running ITV soap. The list of suspects included Todd, Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson).

Sarah's Confession and Arrest

However, it was eventually revealed that Sarah (Tina O'Brien) had killed Theo after she attacked him with a metal pole on top of the scaffolding. Sarah picked up the pole and hit him over the head, sending him falling over the edge of the scaffolding and to the ground below. Sarah ended up getting Gary to help her cover up the crime, and since then, Sarah has seriously been struggling to keep the whole ordeal a secret. This week though, Sarah cracked, revealing to her boyfriend and copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) the truth about what happened.

Spoilers Confirm Prison Stint

Spoilers for next week have confirmed that Sarah ends up getting arrested and sent to prison in a huge twist, hinting her exit is just around the corner. At the start of the week, it soon becomes clear that the evidence is all pointing to Sarah and police arrive and arrest Sarah under suspicion of murder. Kit takes a call from Sarah at the station and does his best to reassure her. At the station, Sarah swears she’s innocent. In the office, Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) tells Kit that not only is Sarah their prime suspect, but they reckon he was involved too. At the station, Lisa tells Kit that they’re charging Sarah with murder and if he values his career, he’ll stop trying to protect her.

Fans Predict Gail's Return

Now, with Sarah set for a prison stint and her exit likely to happen, fans have ‘worked out’ the return of mum Gail Platt (Helen Worth), who left the cobbles in 2024 for a new life in France with husband Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson). “If Sarah leaves surely Gail will come back!?” mused one person on a Coronation Street Facebook fan page. Someone else added: “I thought the same.” A third chimed in: “Yes surely Gail won’t stay in France if her daughter is in prison? [laughing face emoji].”

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
