Jeff Brazier has spoken out after his 20-year-old son Freddy announced he is expecting a child with his ex-girlfriend. The TV presenter, 47, took to Instagram to share his nerves about becoming a grandfather for the first time, posting a photo of himself cuddling his youngest son and jokingly asking followers for a parenting guidebook.
Freddy, whose mother is the late Jade Goody, reportedly had a short relationship with his former partner that ended poorly. The mother of the child has not been publicly identified. Despite the surprise, Jeff has been "extremely supportive" since learning the news, according to a family source.
The source told the Mail on Sunday: "It has blindsided him and has been one of the things that has really brought him and his dad back together but it's so devastating that Jade isn't here to see it." Jeff was among the first people Freddy confided in for advice, and he immediately stepped up to help.
Freddy lost his mother to cervical cancer in 2009 when he was just four years old. Jeff, who also shares son Bobby, 22, with Jade, has previously spoken about the challenges of single parenthood and admitted he would "do things differently" if given the chance.
