Fred Sirieix Hosts New Channel 4 Series 'Fred's Ultimate Hotels'

Fred Sirieix, best known as the maître d' on First Dates, is stepping out of the restaurant and into the world of luxury hospitality with a new Channel 4 series. Titled Fred's Ultimate Hotels, the show will see the beloved TV star travel to some of the world's most spectacular hotels, including Marrakech's Royal Mansour, the Royal Madikwe lodge in South Africa, and Raffles Singapore.

Behind the Scenes of Exceptional Hospitality

In each episode, Fred goes backstage to uncover the staff, meticulous attention, and dedication that make these hotels exceptional. He applies his own Five Fs: First Impressions, Facilities, Flawless Service, Fine Details, and Feeling. Fred experiences each hotel from both sides of the front desk—first as a paying guest sampling everything the establishment offers, then swapping five-star comfort for employee attire to work alongside the staff who deliver impeccable guest experiences.

Host Praised as 'Perfect' for the Role

Channel 4 Senior Commissioning Editor Clemency Green said: “Fred’s Ultimate Hotels is an intoxicating mix of escapism, warmth and discovery, led by one of television’s most engaging hosts. Whether you’re an armchair traveller or a would-be guest dreaming of a stay, Fred’s adventures promise laughter, insight and a generous dose of wanderlust.” Jannine Waddell, Executive Producer at Waddell Media, described Fred as the "perfect" host, adding that he is "never afraid to roll up his sleeves and get back to the job he loves."

Fred's Philosophy on Hospitality

Discussing the upcoming programme, Fred explained: “People often think the secret to a great hotel is the building, the food or the luxury. Of course, those things matter but for me, it's always about the people. The welcome, the attention to detail and the passion of the staff are what turn a wonderful hotel into an unforgettable experience.” Each episode concludes with Fred honouring one outstanding staff member with his Hospitality Hero Award. Fred commented: “It was an incredible privilege to work alongside some of the world's best hospitality teams and to see first-hand the pride they take in what they do. I hope viewers will discover some extraordinary places, but more importantly meet the remarkable people who make them so special.”

Fred’s Ultimate Hotels is due to air on Channel 4 later this year.
