Flight Attendant's 'See You Later' Means They Fancy You, Travel Expert Reveals
Flight Attendant's 'See You Later' Means They Fancy You

A travel enthusiast has revealed that flight attendants have a secret code they use when they fancy a passenger. If a flight attendant says three specific words instead of the usual goodbye as you leave the plane, it could be a major ego boost.

The Secret Code: 'See You Later'

Travel fanatic @gowithgarret shared what he believes to be a secret code used by flight attendants. He explained that many cabin crew members play a game called 'see you later' at the end of a flight. While passengers are disembarking and flight attendants are saying their farewells, if a crew member says 'see you later' instead of 'goodbye,' it means they have taken a shine to you.

Garret advised his followers: 'So, next time you get off the plane and if that flight attendant says, 'see you later,' I think twice about what that really means.' However, he cautioned that passengers should still play it cool, as the flight attendant is working and being professional.

Another Code: 'Cheerio'

Garret also noted that 'cheerio' is another word cabin crew might use to indicate they find a passenger attractive. This old-fashioned term is likely to stick with you after they say it, and now you know it means someone thinks you are cute.

Other Flight Attendant Lingo

Another common term you have probably heard every time you fly is 'cross-check.' This is typically called out before takeoff and just before landing. A senior cabin crew member will call for a crosscheck, which involves unlocking the doors for arrival and deactivating the emergency slides. Skipping this step could cause the inflatable slides to deploy as soon as the door is opened. Another staff member then checks to ensure safety during takeoff and landing.
