Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday 14 September 2024, marking 20 years of the beloved dance show. Presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, the series produced by BBC Studios Entertainment Productions recently won the Best Entertainment category at the 2024 Bafta TV Awards.
The celebrity contestants confirmed for the 2024 series include comedian Chris McCausland, who described the show as 'so far out of my comfort zone it may as well be on the moon'. Singer and TV presenter JB Gill, who previously danced in the Christmas special, said he 'absolutely loved it' and is eager to learn ballroom and Latin. Opera singer Wynne Evans, actress Toyah Willcox, medical broadcaster Punam Krishan, model Tasha Ghouri, TV personality Pete Wicks, singer and actor Shayne Ward, and actress Sarah Hadland complete the lineup.
Tasha Ghouri said she is doing Strictly 'for myself and the deaf community', while Wynne Evans looks forward to showcasing Welsh music. Shayne Ward feels 'completely honoured' to be part of the anniversary series, and Sarah Hadland admitted crying when she first put on her Strictly dress.
