A new documentary chronicling the Oasis reunion tour will hit cinemas this September, offering fans an intimate look at the Gallagher brothers' reconciliation. Titled Don't Look Back in Anger, the film includes never-before-seen footage from the band's massively successful Live '25 Tour and the first shared interview with Noel and Liam in over a quarter of a century.
Trailer Reveals Tense First Rehearsals
In a trailer released to mark the one-year anniversary of the tour's launch in Cardiff, the brothers are seen navigating their first rehearsals after a 16-year feud. Noel, 59, is heard saying: "I just don't see myself on stage with Liam. I just don't see it." Liam, 53, adds: "The way it finished – unacceptable." The footage shows Liam strutting around the rehearsal space while an anxious Noel watches on.
The documentary, directed by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, will be released in cinemas and IMAX in September 2026. It features behind-the-scenes material alongside clips from the live performances that drew tens of thousands of fans to venues worldwide, starting with the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on July 4, 2025.
From Feud to Romcom?
Liam has described the documentary as less a tale of anger and more a romantic comedy. He told fans: "People are asking me what the documentary's like. It's a romantic comedy with a bit of rock 'n' roll." When asked if he cries with Noel in the film, he replied: "BIG GIRLS don't cry."
Director Steven Knight said: "I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people. I wanted to tell the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed for ever."
Tour History and Future Plans
Oasis officially split on August 28, 2009, after a backstage altercation at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. The band announced a shocking comeback in 2024 and went on to perform 41 shows across the UK, Ireland, North America, Oceania and South America as part of the Live '25 Tour.
Speculation is now mounting about additional performances in 2027. Venue insiders suggest the band may be planning a 12-night residency at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium in May and June 2027. Organisers of Manchester's Parklife festival have moved its traditional June dates to July 2027, fuelling rumours of a major series of city gigs. Additional dates are also reportedly being planned globally.
