Trinny London's new Lip Reset Kit, a lip liner and gloss duo, made shopping writer Lauren Codling's lips look so full that she felt they resembled filler. The £47 kit combines the Line2Define Lip Liner with the Sheer Joy Pro-Collagen Lip Oil, promising fuller-looking, more defined lips in two steps. Available in 10 shade combinations, the kit includes options from soft cherry and deep plum to warm cinnamon and shimmering coral.
Testing the Duo
Codling tested three duos over several weeks: Gloria and Ally (peachy nude liner with soft pink lip oil), Fran and Thea (deep nude with peachy pink), and Fay and Lola (soft cinnamon liner with coral shimmer oil). She found the application effortless, with the liner gliding on without dragging, allowing her to slightly overline lips for a fuller effect. The lip oil was lightweight and non-sticky, though hair did get caught in wind.
“I genuinely liked every shade combination I tried, although I have to give a special mention to Fran and Thea,” Codling wrote. “The peachy pink lip oil paired with the deeper nude liner creates the most flattering everyday lip, striking that sweet spot between polished and effortless.”
Longevity and Performance
The colour lasted several hours without eating or drinking, but required touch-ups after drinking. Codling noted that neither the liner nor the lip oil bled into fine lines around her lips, a common issue with other products. The packaging is chic, with a sleek silver finish that feels premium.
One drawback was sharpening the liner: the thick casing got wedged in a standard sharpener twice. Codling also noted the gloss is not completely transfer-proof and has some stickiness. However, she concluded that these are minor issues in an otherwise thoughtfully designed duo that delivers a natural, voluminous look.
“Overall, I was genuinely impressed by the Lip Reset Kit,” Codling said. “The carefully matched shade pairings, easy-to-use formulas and comfortable, hydrating finish make it a standout option for anyone looking to create fuller-looking lips with minimal effort.”
