The film adapts Jared Cade's 1998 book Agatha Christie and the Eleven Missing Days, which examines the investigation into Christie's vanishing. The screenplay is written by Ernesto Foronda, known for Better Luck Tomorrow, and directed by Bertie Ellwood, who previously worked on Silo.

She was found 11 days later at a hotel in Harrogate, where she had registered under an assumed name.
