Prince William marked his 44th birthday and Father's Day with a new photograph alongside his daughter, Princess Charlotte, but royal fans quickly voiced a common complaint: the absence of his other two children, Prince George and Prince Louis.
Photo released after Trooping the Colour
Kensington Palace shared the image on social media, taken in the garden of Kensington Palace after the Trooping the Colour ceremony last weekend. In the picture, William wears the scarlet dress uniform of the Welsh Guards, of which he is colonel, while Charlotte is dressed in a cream dress. The caption read: “Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much. C, G, C & L” along with two pink heart emojis.
Fans express disappointment
Despite the heartfelt message, many fans took to social media to question why only one child was featured. One user on X wrote: “Ok I love the post but why only Charlotte? [crying face emoji].” Another commented: “It’s kind of weird just posting a picture with one child idk.” A third asked: “Why would you not have one with all 3 kids?” and a fourth said: “Why aren’t C,G and L in the photo?”
William's busy birthday week
Earlier in his birthday week, the Prince of Wales attended Royal Ascot with his wife, Princess Catherine, for the first time since 2023. On Wednesday, the couple took part in the traditional carriage ride, watched the races from the royal box, and shared a light moment with former England manager Sir Gareth Southgate before the World Cup match against Croatia. Princess Catherine made her first appearance at the Berkshire meet since her cancer diagnosis in early 2024, following successful chemotherapy treatment. The couple also participated in Monday’s Garter Day celebrations at Windsor Castle.
