Singer Conor Maynard has taken a swipe at The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton after paternity tests proved he is not the father of her baby. In a video promoting his new single 'Cherry On Top', Maynard mocked the controversy that has gripped fans for months.
The video shows Maynard at a press conference surrounded by microphones bearing pun-filled names such as 'Not My Sun', 'The Legal Guardian' and 'Traitor Times'. Journalists then ask him pointed questions, including whether he still cannot say no to women and how much he paid to change his DNA. He captioned the clip: 'My turn on the mic'.
Charlotte Chilton gave birth to daughter Penelope last year and claimed Maynard was the father after a one-night stand. The singer initially stayed silent but issued a statement in March after a second DNA test, arranged by Chilton at a Ministry of Justice accredited facility, again confirmed he is not the child's father.
In his statement, Maynard said: 'As with the last test, this test has confirmed again that I am not Penelope's father... The results are therefore conclusive. I'm glad we can now finally draw a line under this.' He also recently announced his engagement to his girlfriend, posting a photo of her ring alongside the caption: 'Happy Birthday to my FIANCÉE!!! I’m ready to take on forever with you.'
