Ellie Watkins, the wife of England footballer Ollie Watkins, took a playful jab at Roy Keane after a wardrobe malfunction forced her to go braless while watching the Three Lions face Ghana at the World Cup. The 30-year-old mother of two was spotted in the stands at Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Tuesday evening, wearing an England cap, an off-white tank top, blue jeans, and a red jacket.
Sharing a photo of her outfit on Instagram, Ellie wrote: "Lil wardrobe malfunction led to quick outfit change," adding a laughing emoji and a St George's Cross. In a nod to Keane's past criticism of WAGs wearing their partners' shirts, she quipped: "Roy Keane, do you approve."
Forgotten Bra Forces Quick Change
Ellie explained that she had initially planned a more summer-oriented outfit but faced two issues: grey skies and rain in Boston, and forgetting to pack a bra. "I have had an absolute mare with my outfit today," she said. "I had a whole summer outfit planned and then we arrived in Boston and it is grey skies and due to p*ss it down. That was issue number one and then I unpacked my suitcase and realised I forgot a bra." She added that her other top was "completely see through," so she opted for a basic outfit featuring a tank top from Maebe for more coverage.
Match and Relationship Details
Ellie was disappointed not to see her husband play in England's 0-0 draw with Ghana, as Ollie remained an unused substitute while Harry Kane led the line. The couple met in 2018 on separate holidays in Marbella and married in March 2024 at Marylebone Town Hall. They have two children, Amara (born 2021) and Marley (born 2023).
