England Fans Mock Scotland with Revamped World Cup Chant

England supporters have dedicated a new chant to Scotland, putting their own twist on the iconic Baccara classic 'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie' after England's 2-0 victory over Panama on June 27. The song, which became synonymous with Scotland during the delayed Euro 2020 tournament, has been reworked into a taunt about Scotland's group stage elimination from the World Cup.

Viral Video Sparks Debate

The clip, originally posted on TikTok by user @hallaroundtheglobe with the caption 'Cheerio Scotland,' shows dozens of England fans singing outside Boston Stadium: 'Yes sir, you can book it, you can book your flight back home, you can book it, book it, book it, all night long.' The video quickly gained traction, racking up more than 350,000 views and over 27,000 likes in less than 24 hours.

The chant has divided Scotland supporters. Some dismissed it as another example of England fans being more focused on Scotland than their own team. One unimpressed Scotland supporter wrote: 'All good lads, you'll not be far behind and guess what.... It still won't be coming home. We'll get the bins this week.' Another joked: 'Oasis .. And after all , you will win f**k all,' while a third added: 'Is that the best you can come up with??? Rent free!!!'

Some Scots Appreciate the Banter

However, not everyone was critical. Some Scotland fans admitted the chant was decent football banter. One user said: 'Regardless of who you support, this is pretty funny. About time England fans had a decent song.' Another agreed: 'Negativity is their superpower. Song is good banter tho,' and a third simply commented: 'Pretty funny that! Finally a decent song from this lot.'

The viral clip demonstrates that even after Scotland's World Cup campaign ended, the Tartan Army remain firmly in the minds of their oldest rivals, sparking ongoing banter between the two sets of fans.
