Shebz Miah's Arrival in Emmerdale
Shebz Miah joined the cast of Emmerdale in March 2025, making his debut as Kammy Hadiq. His first episode saw him steal a quad bike from Moira Dingle's property, with Ross Barton wrongly blamed for the theft. This chaotic introduction established Kammy as a troublemaker. He quickly caught the attention of Sarah Sugden, who discovered him struggling to start the stolen vehicle on the roadside.
Romantic Entanglements and Character Development
Upon his arrival, Kammy became involved in a romantic triangle with Sarah Sugden and Jacob Gallagher, as both young men vied for her affections. Ultimately, Sarah and Jacob rekindled their relationship and got married, becoming surrogate parents to baby Leyla. Kammy also had to gently reject a romantic advance from his close friend Vinny Dingle, but later showed his compassionate and loyal nature after Vinny was brutally assaulted.
In a heartbreaking storyline, Kammy recently admitted to being homeless, revealing he had been sleeping rough in a barn. He disclosed that his family breakdown stemmed from a tragedy years earlier: "My dad died. Unexpected," he told Belle Dingle. "I took it really bad, I didn't look after my mum how I should have done." This emotional confession moved audiences to tears.

Prior to Emmerdale, Shebz Miah appeared in a 2024 episode of Casualty as Noor Din and in Doctors in 2023 as Reece Shaw. He tends to keep his personal life private and has not confirmed any off-screen relationship. Speaking about his role, Shebz said: "Kammy is the first Pakistani Muslim that we've had on Emmerdale, and that itself is a big thing. And I think now we can finally start to truly understand what that looks like, especially in British soap as well. It's not really common. So I am so excited and stoked to be able to finally tap into that. But also the beauty is that I get to show Kammy as just a normal British Bradford lad as well."
He added: "It's amazing that I'm able to blur the lines ever so slightly. But also show you know, as I said, as myself, like as Shebz I am also sort of Muslim, and, you know, South Asian background, I get to show that as well, and it's a big thing. So finally, yeah, I am so glad. I went to the producer, I was like, please, please let it happen."
