Emmerdale's Michael Parr says fatherhood changed his outlook

Emmerdale actor Michael Parr has spoken about how his life has changed since learning he is to become a father for the first time. The 39-year-old, best known for playing Ross Barton on the ITV soap, announced earlier this year that he and girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis are expecting a baby.

In an interview, Parr admitted his entire perspective shifted after his partner told him the news. 'Once Izzy told me, my whole outlook on life changed,' he said. 'It’s made me realise what’s actually important to me. I feel ready for it.'

The star praised his Emmerdale colleagues for their support, noting that while they have not given specific advice, it has been helpful to see others navigate parenthood. Reflecting on how his lifestyle has evolved, he recalled that when he joined the show at 26, 'it used to be all about the nightclubs and going out for pints after work,' but now he is 'entering dad mode' and prefers 'tea and early nights.'
