Emmerdale fans were introduced to a new character, Kylie, on Monday's episode as she held Lewis Barton captive. The role is played by actress Pippa Fulton, who has previously appeared on Coronation Street and other TV shows.
Kidnapping Plot Unfolds
Last week, Lewis attempted to join Vinny Dingle at the airport for a spontaneous trip to Madeira after getting cold feet. However, as he tried to hail a taxi, a van pulled up and he was forcibly taken. During Monday's episode, it emerged that Kylie is holding him prisoner.
Ross received an alarming message about Lewis's abduction, warning that Lewis faces danger unless his father returns 'Penny' to the kidnapper. Ross cautioned Liam Cavanagh against involving the police and insisted they find Lewis's adoptive father, Jeffrey, but their search proved fruitless. Liam eventually revealed that Lewis's biological father is Kev, and Ross determined they must track him down.
Kylie's Demands
Kylie confronted Ross and disclosed she is holding Lewis hostage, stating he will only be freed when Kev returns 'Penny', which she described as 'the most precious thing in the world'. Emphasising it's a life-or-death situation, Liam persuaded Claudette to disclose Kev's location. They found Kev operating a cake van, but Ross grew frustrated by Kev's demeanour, leading to a physical altercation.
After the confrontation, Kev claimed Penny is a diamond he sold to a pawn shop, with Ross demanding he retrieve it. However, alone, Kev glanced at a diamond hanging round his neck, making it clear he hadn't sold it. Later, Ross receives a menacing text from Kylie containing images of scalpels. Kylie video calls Kev, insisting on the return of 'Penny' by close of day, emphasising her seriousness by mentioning her eight-year stretch in Holloway prison.
Actress Background
The character of Kylie is played by Pippa Fulton, who recently appeared in Coronation Street. In 2024, she played Aurora, a woman involved in Steve McDonald's online dating storyline. Her other credits include Hullraisers, where she portrayed Leanne, and an appearance on Emmerdale in 2014 as Jess. Pippa first rose to prominence in 2002 on the BBC talent competition Fame Academy.
