Emmerdale's Joe Tate 'Twins' Exposed: Fans Stunned

Emmerdale viewers have been left gobsmacked after noticing striking similarities between Joe Tate actor Ned Porteous and two other celebrities: YouTuber George Clarke and American actor David Corenswet.

Joe Tate's Dramatic Return and Current Storylines

Ned Porteous plays Joe Tate, the orphaned son of Christopher Tate and Rachel Hughes, and half-brother of Noah Dingle. Joe was forced to escape the village in 2018 after his step-grandmother Kim Tate planned to have him murdered. Following an altercation with Cain Dingle, during which Joe was struck and believed dead, his right-hand man Graham Foster covertly assisted him in going into hiding. The village bad boy staged his dramatic comeback on Christmas Eve 2024, which ultimately resulted in the death of Will Taylor.

The drama continued as Joe embarked on an affair with Dawn Fletcher behind her husband Billy's back, stole Caleb Miligan's kidney, and caused the limo crash that claimed the lives of Amy Barton, Leyla Harding, and Suzy Merton. Having stolen Butler's Farm from Moira Dingle, Joe has since been concentrating on arranging his forthcoming wedding to Dawn, who is also expecting his child.

Fans Spot 'Twins' in Real Life

Now, Emmerdale fans have been left stunned after discovering Joe's famous 'twins'. Numerous dedicated soap watchers have highlighted actor Ned Porteous' resemblance to YouTuber George Clarke, who took part in last year's series of Strictly Come Dancing. George was paired with professional dancer Alexis Warr, and the duo reached the final, finishing as joint runners-up behind winners Karen Carney and Carlos Gu.

Highlighting the similarities, one Emmerdale fan posted on Reddit: 'Such a lookalike. Saw Joe Tate's back (haven't watched in a while) but thought his face looked familiar. Remembering his old look, they look CRAZY similar to me. Second picture is a YouTuber called George Clarke.' Another agreed: 'I was thinking the exact same, they look like twins!'

Meanwhile, someone else spotted Ned's remarkable resemblance to American actor David Corenswet, who notably assumed the leading role of Superman in James Gunn's 2025 DC Universe film. 'Don't forget David Corenswet's current look!! Looks so much like Ned haha,' the fan remarked, with another sharing: 'Oh my god!!! Literally!'

Rumours of Dawn's Departure

Joe and Dawn's wedding in Emmerdale could be disrupted, as Dawn star Olivia Bromley is rumoured to be departing the soap, after bosses reportedly decided to write her out. A source previously told The Sun: 'Olivia is adored by everyone at Emmerdale so the decision to axe her has not gone down well at all. She's a popular member of the cast and if they can get rid of Olivia, then the feeling is virtually no-one is safe.' Neither the soap nor Olivia herself have confirmed the reports.

Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
