Emmerdale actress Isabel Hodgins, 32, was nearly brought to tears after a kind stranger offered to cut up her food while she was feeding her baby in an M&S café at the Trafford Centre. The soap star, who gave birth to daughter Georgie Grace in February, shared the heartwarming moment on Facebook, praising the unnamed woman for her generosity.
Struggling Solo with Baby
In a video posted to her Facebook, Isabel explained that she had visited the Trafford Centre to escape the ongoing heatwave. While at the M&S café, she began feeding her baby and simultaneously ordered avocado on toast with a side of smoked salmon. Normally, her partner Adam would cut up her food, but on this occasion she was alone.
'I was riding solo, and this lovely woman came up to me and went, “do you want me to cut your food up for you?”. And ordinarily, I would’ve gone, “No it’s fine, it’s fine”, and struggled. I took the opportunity and I said, “That would be so kind of you, thank you so much!”. So she cut my salmon up for me,' Isabel recounted.
Reflecting on Mum Solidarity
The actress went on to say that the woman had shared her own experiences of similar situations with her children. Isabel added: 'I just thought, aren’t mums and aren’t people gorgeous. No disrespect to dads, but a dad didn’t offer, and a mum did! I hope this lovely lady gets all the nice, kind karma in the world.'
In the caption of her post, Isabel admitted she was 'close to tears' and expressed a desire to locate the woman to 'say thank you properly'.
Emmerdale Exit and Maternity Leave
Isabel left her role as Victoria Sugden on Emmerdale in February to begin maternity leave. In the storyline, Vic departed the village for a new life in Portugal with her son Harry after selling the family farmland to Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) alongside her brother Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). Concluding that the place held too many bad memories, Vic decided to leave but assured Robert she would return.
The actress continues to share updates on Georgie's progress and life as a first-time parent on social media, delighting fans with glimpses into her new role.
