Emmerdale actress Flo Wilson, who plays Claudette Anderson, is married to actor John Smeathers. The couple wed in 2018 and keep their personal life private.
Flo Wilson's Role in Emmerdale
The 63-year-old star first appeared in the village in 2023 as Claudette Anderson, mother of vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), widow of Victor Anderson (Eddie Osei), and grandmother of Ethan Anderson (Emile John) and Naomi Walters (Karene Peter). She lives with Charles and Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) at Woodbine Cottage and works as a receptionist at Brook Cottage Surgery.
Claudette has been involved in storylines including clashes with villagers, faking an injury to manipulate her family, and the tragic death of her grandson Ethan in 2024. Ethan lost control of his car and crashed, leaving passenger Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) in a coma. Nicky's mum Ruby (Beth Cordingly) then hit Ethan with her car. After recovering, Ethan was charged with dangerous driving but collapsed on the day of his court hearing. His father Charles revealed Ethan died in hospital due to an undiagnosed brain aneurysm. Claudette also worked with serial killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) at the GP surgery last year.
John Smeathers' Career
John Smeathers appeared on Coronation Street in 2018 as a priest at St Luke's Church, officiating at the funeral of Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward). He has also starred in All at Sea, Moving On, Houdini and Doyle, Fresh Meat, The Five, Wanderlust, Bad Move, Traces, Cold Feet, Brassic, The Irregulars, Beside the Sea, The Curse and Dead Hot. On stage, he had a 15-year stint as Scrooge in the annual production of A Christmas Carol at the Alleyway Theatre in Buffalo, New York.
