Dr Todd's Storyline
Dr Todd returned to Emmerdale earlier this year as a mentor to trainee doctor Jacob Sugden. Despite being a respected doctor, she bullied Jacob relentlessly at work. Jacob reported her to HR, learning others had made similar complaints. Todd announced early retirement and moved to Sheffield.
Before leaving, she targeted Charity after learning baby Leyla, for whom Charity was surrogate, was not biologically Sarah and Jacob's. Todd blackmailed Charity, but Charity eventually told her to expose the secret. Todd then kissed a drunken Charity, who rejected her and fell asleep. Todd hovered over her, saying: "Wake up. Drunk, disgusting w****! One too many? Bad, bad girl. You should know better than to lose control."
The horrific assault followed, with Todd unzipping Charity's trousers before Charity awoke and begged her to stop. Charity has since reported Todd to the police and told Mackenzie Boyd everything. A flashforward earlier showed Dr Todd's dead body.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX and YouTube from 7am.
