Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) shares a surprise kiss with her ex Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) in Emmerdale, and it will lead to serious consequences. Her wedding to Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) is right around the corner, but so is her big exit, and we might be starting to see exactly how it happens.
Gabby and Billy's new relationship
Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) has started seeing Billy, and it has ignited an unexpected fire in Dawn. She worked hard to encourage the couple to keep their relationship secret, but now it's out in the open, Dawn is struggling to keep her true feelings under wraps. Gabby is already suspicious and has said as much to Joe, but so far neither have seen much evidence to believe it.
Dawn got the ick with Joe when she learned what he had done to Moira (Natalie J Robb) by setting her up to go to prison. Even though she seemed to fall back in love with him, there was no coming back from that. The fact she's carrying his baby is just an added complication.
Gabby's health scare and decision
Gabby, on the other hand, is loving her new relationship status. Having suffered some soul-crushing rejections of late, having Billy on side has been a real ego boost. Gabby is posting about her new-found health obsession on social media when she comes over dizzy and faints. Dawn finds her unconscious in the kitchen and urges her to see a doctor.
Gabby does as she's told, but Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) doesn't pick up on the signs of disordered eating, instead thinking it might be a pregnancy. When they establish it's not, Manpreet commends her for her healthy lifestyle. This prompts a huge decision for Gabby – she's going to stop pouring chemicals into her body, which includes her birth control pill.
When Dawn gets wind of this, she spirals and does something unhinged – she tells Billy about Gabby's decision. A wholly inappropriate discussion, and Gabby is fuming when she finds out. Dawn's behaviour gets Joe wondering if Gabby is right, perhaps Dawn is harbouring feelings for Billy.
The kiss and its aftermath
Dawn finds a detention slip in Lucas' pocket, which is the perfect excuse to spend time with Billy. They easily fall back into their team roles of mum and dad, and as they enjoy each other's company, Dawn gives in to her feelings and leans in. Who should walk in at this moment? Her fiancé and future husband Joe. While she wonders what he's seen, Joe prepares to make a huge next move, and Dawn won't see it coming.
