Emmerdale trailer hints Billy Fletcher exit after eight years

Emmerdale has released a gripping new trailer that has left fans fearing one much-loved villager may have been killed. The preview teases a troublesome time for Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), who is currently dating Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) following a split from his wife Dawn (Olivia Bromley).

Dawn and Billy reconnect

After Dawn’s affair with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and her move to Home Farm, Billy and Gabby grew close. But Dawn recently suggested they keep their romance quiet to avoid confusing the children. In the trailer, Billy and Dawn are seen laughing together, with Caleb Miligan (William Ash) remarking, “They're soulmates. Always have been. Always will be.” Joe is shown with an angry expression.

Gabby threatens and Joe warns

The clip then moves to The Hide, where Gabby is heard saying, “I'm not letting him get away with this. I want answers.” Later, Joe tells Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), “Billy's gonna have to watch his back.”

Billy found bleeding

A final moment shows Billy lying on the floor with blood around his head, leaving his fate unknown. Fans have taken to social media to plead with the soap not to kill off Billy. One wrote: “Is Billy leaving? Didn't hear any gossip relating to it.” Another said: “Don't kill Billy!!” A third added: “Don't kill Billy, he's really nice. Get rid of Dawn instead.” Another viewer commented: “Looks like Billy on The Floor Joe Tate revenge on him that Dawn still loves Billy.” One fan demanded: “Keep Billy alive, kill Joe off.”

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX.
