Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is trapped in the woods in Emmerdale, and no-one knows. The character’s relationships with his loved ones have been severely impacted as a result of his cancer diagnosis. Because Cain has been so caught up in worrying about his health, he hasn’t shown a great deal of love towards Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) and Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn).
Neglecting these relationships has continued in recent days, as Cain has been distracted by Monty the dog’s ill health. He’s thrown himself into caring for the pup, and even went to Hotten this week to get a second opinion on Monty’s cancer diagnosis.
Cain's camping trip goes wrong
Cain agreed to go on Kyle’s camping trip largely because he didn’t want to spend alone time with Moira. His heart wasn’t in it from the very start, which meant Cain’s mood got worse when Kyle announced that Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) was coming along as well.
As they began their walk, Graham realised that Cain wasn’t actually prepared for a night in the woods. He wasn’t dressed properly, he hadn’t bought enough food, and he was trying to use the GPS on his phone for directions, unaware he wasn’t going the right way.
Cain hates the fact that Graham can connect with Kyle in ways he’s unable to, and made this the sole focus of the trip rather than actually spending quality time with his lad. Because Cain cannot accept that Kyle is learning valuable skills from a man that isn’t him, he very quickly lost control of his anger.
Cain trapped under fallen tree
Disappointed that his dad had ruined things once more, Kyle had no issue with Cain storming off like a child. As Graham and Kyle prepared for the rest of the afternoon, neither of them were aware that Cain was actually in quite a bit of trouble. He was trapped under a piece of fallen tree. Unable to access the items in his bag, Cain appears to be stuck there.
