Emmerdale viewers were introduced to a new character, Kylie, on Monday's episode, who is holding Lewis Barton hostage. The role is played by actress Pippa Fulton, a familiar face to ITV soap fans from her recent appearance on Coronation Street.
Kylie's Kidnap Plot Unfolds
Last week, Lewis attempted to flee with Vinny Dingle to Madeira after getting cold feet. However, his escape was thwarted when a van stopped nearby and he was abducted. On Monday, viewers learned that Kylie is the kidnapper. Ross received a message stating Lewis is at risk unless his father returns 'Penny' to Kylie.
Ross warned Liam Cavanagh not to call the police and insisted they find Lewis' adoptive dad, Jeffrey, but found no leads. Liam eventually confessed that Lewis' biological father is Kev. Ross decided they must find Kev, and Kylie soon approached Ross, revealing she holds Lewis captive until Kev returns 'Penny', which she called 'the most precious thing in the world'.
Kev's Secret Revealed
Liam convinced Claudette to give him Kev's whereabouts. Liam found Kev selling cakes from his van, but Ross was annoyed by Kev's attitude, leading to a scuffle. Kev claimed Penny is a diamond he sold to a pawn shop, and Ross demanded he buy it back. However, once alone, Kev looked at a diamond around his neck, making it clear he didn't sell it.
Later this week, Ross receives an ominous text from Kylie with images of scalpels. Kylie video calls Kev, demanding the return of 'Penny' by day's end, referencing her eight-year stint in Holloway prison. Kev initially says the pawn shop sold Penny, but later claims he found and bought it back. Distrustful, Ross renders Kev unconscious and plans to use him as a safety net for the exchange.
Pippa Fulton's Previous Roles
Pippa Fulton recently appeared on Coronation Street in 2024 as Aurora, a woman involved in Steve McDonald's online dating storyline. Her other roles include Leanne in Hullraisers and a 2014 Emmerdale appearance as Jess. Pippa first gained fame in 2002 on the BBC talent competition Fame Academy.
