Emmerdale fans are speculating that Sadie King, played by Patsy Kensit, could have a long-lost daughter already living in the village. The iconic villain returned to the Yorkshire Dales last month after 20 years away, arriving by helicopter shortly after the death of her ex-husband Jimmy King (Nick Miles).
Initially, Sadie claimed she had no agenda when she arrived at the site of the crash that killed Jimmy, but she later revealed a major secret that left villagers speechless. In The Woolpack, Sadie disclosed that she had been in a relationship with Jimmy for three years and that he had been living with her.
Nicola's friendship with Sadie
These revelations have devastated Jimmy's wife, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), yet she has since formed a friendship with Sadie, with the pair even planning Jimmy's funeral together. During Monday's (October 5) episode, now streaming on ITVX, Nicola asked Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) to deliver the eulogy at Jimmy's funeral.
Jimmy's son, Carl Holliday (Charlie Joyce), later found a mysterious key among Jimmy's belongings from the scrapyard. Sadie was also left rattled when Nicola revealed she had found backed-up voicemails on Jimmy's laptop.
“I didn't know you could do that,” a stunned Sadie said to Nicola and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) in The Woolpack. Nicola replied: “And neither did Jimmy, until Angel accidentally dropped his phone down a Portaloo at Leeds Fest... Yeah, anyway, you can download the app on other devices, access your messages.”
Fans predict a DNA twist
Sadie was visibly relieved to learn that neither Carl nor Nicola had listened to the messages, and even offered to delete them for her. But Nicola was quick to acknowledge she would be able to delete them eventually. She added: “Just wish I could delete all the ruined memories as easily,” as a panicked Sadie watched on.
Now, some Emmerdale fans are speculating that Jimmy was not Sadie's only relative in the village, as she could have a secret daughter. A number of viewers have noticed a striking resemblance between Sadie and soap favourite Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) in a new trailer for Jimmy's funeral.
“Screenshot from next week's trailer. Sadie and Belle look like mother and daughter [shocked face],” one person wrote on X. Someone else said: “Wow they do.” A third commented: “Shock daughter plot?”
Nicola prepares to bury Jimmy
In the new trailer, Nicola prepares to bury Jimmy as she says: “I loved every ounce of you, but you've ruined that. And I will never, ever forgive you for that.” But it looks as though Nicola will soon learn the truth about Sadie's deception, as she is later seen saying: “When I should've been grieving for the man I loved most in this world, she made me hate him!”
How Nicola finds out remains to be seen. Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
