Emmerdale viewers were stunned when Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) debuted his dramatic new look on the ITV soap, with fans saying they 'didn't recognise him'.
Graham's new appearance
During Thursday's episode (July 23), Graham unveiled a fresh new look ahead of a camping trip. Typically seen sporting a suit with his hair neatly slicked back, Graham opted for a more casual appearance, showcasing a naturally curly hairstyle.
One viewer commented on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page: 'Graham is back with a new look, new haircut and a slimmer body line, nice one, I hardly recognise him if it wasn't for the voice I would say they replaced him.'
Fan reactions
Another remarked: 'Think he looked younger tonight with his haircut and no suit.' A third chimed in: 'He looks a tad younger; it suited him.' Echoing their thoughts, another penned: 'He did look very sexy!!' Someone else wrote: 'Graham looks so different out of a suit - I had to put my glasses on to check it was him.'
Graham's return to the Dales
Graham first appeared on the ITV programme nearly 10 years ago in 2017. In 2020, he was believed to have been murdered by Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather), the violent former husband of Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), with whom Graham had lately begun a romance. His supposed 'death' sparked a 'whodunnit' storyline. However, the dramatic Corriedale episode broadcast in January this year revealed that Graham had in fact survived and had been keeping a low profile for several years.
He ultimately confessed to Rhona that he had never truly perished, and staged his own demise after discovering that Kim was plotting to have him murdered. Following his return to the village, Graham encountered a chilly welcome from residents including Kim Tate (Claire King), Rhona and Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). He has now reintegrated into Dales life, and this week was asked along on Kyle Winchester's (Huey Quinn) camping excursion, much to Cain Dingle's (Jeff Hordley) irritation.
Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
