Emmerdale fans are certain Vinny Dingle is about to be forced out of the village after his manipulation of Kev Barton's relationship with son Lewis leads to a sinister warning. Viewers believe Kev will launch a revenge plot against Vinny, potentially killing him or running him out of the village following the exposure of his lies. Actor Bradley Johnson is reportedly bowing out of the ITV soap after seven years playing Vinny.
Tom's Birthday Cake Drama
On Monday's episode (July 27), Kev (Chris Coghill) was putting finishing touches on his son Lewis' (Bradley Riches) birthday cake, determined to make the occasion special. Lewis was touched to see the cake decorated like his favourite jumper. However, things took a turn when Steve (Jason Done) decided to plan another robbery with Kev. Kev tried to stop Steve, but Vinny spotted the situation. The two men got into a car with a crowbar and drove off, leading Vinny to assume they were causing trouble.
Vinny quickly told Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and Lewis what he had seen. When Kev arrived at Dale View, he found a heartbroken Lewis who believed he had been let down again. Despite Kev's protests, no one listened. A scuffle with Ross ensued, and Kev accidentally punched Lewis in the face.
Vinny's Lie Deepens
On Tuesday (July 28), the fallout between Lewis and Kev appeared short-lived until Vinny arrived at the café and declined their invitation. Vinny opened up to his mother Mandy (Lisa Riley), explaining he didn't want Lewis traumatised by his dad, after his own abusive father Paul Ashdale (Reece Dinsdale). Meanwhile, Lewis encouraged Kev to connect with Vinny. Kev headed to Dale View to reason with Vinny, who panicked and demanded he leave, trying to push him out. As Kev tried to get Vinny off him, Lewis walked in and assumed Kev was attacking his boyfriend. Vinny cunningly failed to tell Lewis the truth.
Vinny later confessed to Mandy that he started the scuffle and confirmed he wouldn't tell Lewis the truth. Mandy noted Vinny isn't in control of who Lewis speaks to, but seemed convinced he was doing the right thing. The lie appears to have burned Kev's bridge with Lewis for good, leaving the ex-convict fuming. At the Anderson household, a spiralling Kev told Steve it was time for people to know who he really is.
