Emmerdale viewers think they have uncovered Dawn Fletcher's death, with Caleb Miligan potentially responsible. The theory comes as Dawn (Olivia Bromley) plans her wedding to Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), but her ex-husband Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) tried to kiss her earlier this week. Dawn recoiled just before Joe appeared, though it is unclear if he saw anything.
Joe's unusual lunch invitation
In Wednesday's episode (July 29), now streaming on ITVX, Joe arranged a family lunch at The Hide, and even Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) sensed an ulterior motive. Billy and Dawn feared a confrontation, but Joe instead invited Billy to be one of his groomsmen. Billy remained uneasy about Joe's strange behaviour.
Joe is already hiding secrets, having enlisted Graham to spy on his uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash), who runs a criminal operation with Billy and Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton). Billy's suspicions seemed justified when Joe later told Graham that everything was 'in hand'.
Fan theory: Caleb causes Dawn's death
One viewer on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: 'I got a wild theory that Caleb will be involved in Dawn's exit. Here is my theory that Joe's car comes in for a car part at Cain's garage and Caleb uses one of [the] non-brand car parts to get back at Joe (we know he gets a chance to) but instead of Joe picking up the car it's Dawn and the car gets in an accident which kills her.'
Another agreed: 'Actually that makes sense cause when they go out for revenge someone else is always caught in the middle.' A third added: 'I think that's a good theory!' while another said: 'It is very possible! I have thought myself that her exit will be her getting caught in a revenge plot on Joe.'
Reports of Olivia Bromley's exit
The theories follow reports that Olivia Bromley is set to leave the soap, with bosses allegedly deciding to write her character out. A source told The Sun: 'Olivia is adored by everyone at Emmerdale so the decision to axe her has not gone down well at all. She's a popular member of the cast and if they can get rid of Olivia, then the feeling is virtually no-one is safe.' Neither the soap nor Bromley has confirmed the reports.
