Emmerdale fans admitted they were moved as Charity Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield found another of Dr Todd's victims.
As we arrived in the Dales for another week, Charity was left disappointed as the CPS confirmed that they would not be continuing to investigate the blackmail and sexual assault reports against Dr Caitlin Todd due to a lack of evidence.
Over the last few months, viewers have watched Dr Todd's reign of terror unfold. What started off as her bullying trainee doctor Jacob Sugden, became something much more sinister.
Charity's Ordeal
After learning that Charity Dingle had lied to Jacob and Sarah after offering to be their surrogate, she set a plan into action. With information that the baby wasn't biologically theirs, but instead was the product of Charity and Ross Barton's one-night stand, Todd blackmailed Charity.
Things took an even darker turn when Todd went to kiss Charity but was rejected, and as a drunken Charity lay asleep on the sofa, she was sexually assaulted by Todd.
Todd later left the village, heading to Sheffield for a fresh start, leaving the aftermath of what she'd done behind her. Since then, Charity confessed everything to her husband, Mackenzie Boyd, who vowed to support her through this.
New Evidence Emerges
During Tuesday's (July 21) visit to the Dales, Vanessa Woodfield told Mack that she was heading over to Hotten General Hospital to find out more about Dr Todd's reputation.
The HR rep told her she wasn't able to disclose who had reported Todd, but sneakily printed out a list of names and left them there for Vanessa to see.
It was then that Vanessa paid a visit to Helen, and after Charity found Vanessa, the pair were ushered into a private room by a nervous Helen. She later confessed that Todd had also assaulted her, and reported Helen before she got the chance to.
Although Helen didn't yet appear completely convinced in reporting Todd to the police, Charity was hopeful that it was a step towards justice, telling Helen that together they could stop Todd.
Fan Reactions
Now, viewers have praised the ITV soap for the moving scene. On Instagram one fan penned: "Very moving" as another simply wrote: "Time for justice indeed!"
However, in a flashforward Todd's dead body was shown a few weeks ago, as another pointed out: "I hope she's not dead i want to see justice done."
