Emma Willis is prioritising her health ahead of her new role as host of the revamped Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One, sharing a glimpse of her pre-show preparations on Instagram.
The former Big Brother presenter will co-host the dance programme alongside comedian Josh Widdicombe and professional dancer Johannes Radebe when it returns in September. The trio were selected to take over after Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman left their long-running roles at the end of the 2025 series in December.
Wellness clinic visit
With the 2026 series launch date expected to be September 19, Willis posted about a trip to a wellness clinic in Austria with her husband, Matt. In an advertisement post on Instagram, she wrote: "I've always been obsessed with the human body and anybody that knows me would know that I LOVE a test! Wellness clinics are my idea of a perfect 'holiday' and I'd had my eye on @mayrlife_official for quite a while."
She added: "Matt and I booked a few days off and hot footed it to Austria and I'm so glad we finally made it there. Every test, every conversation and every little thing I've learned has helped me understand my body that little bit better. I've been especially fascinated by just how much of our overall health starts with our gut!"
Willis described herself as a "chronic overthinker" who doesn't take time to prioritise herself as much as she should. She said: "I always feel guilty when I do but being in that environment with the peace and quiet where you have the time to look inwards without any distractions was priceless!"
She noted that the experience was not about perfection or quick fixes but about understanding her body better and making small, sustainable changes.
Taking on the role
In a statement at the time of the announcement, Willis said: "It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Strictly – I've cheered and danced along from my sofa for years – so to be stepping into the Strictly ballroom is something I can't quite comprehend."
She added: "It's impossible to fill the shoes that Tess and Claudia have left behind – two wonderful, iconic women who have been the beating heart of Strictly for so long. I can only hope that we are able to help to steer the ship as beautifully as they have, into this new chapter."
Willis also expressed excitement about working with her co-hosts: "I can't wait to spend my weekends with Josh and Jojo, the incredible dancers and the judges. Fingers crossed for a 10 from them."
