Emma Roberts and Cody John have married in a ceremony in Idaho over the weekend. The 35-year-old actress and the In The Dark actor, 36, got engaged in July 2024 after dating since 2022.
Wedding details
Vogue magazine reported the nuptials. The bride wore a custom off-white Monique Lhuillier wedding dress. Emma said: “I’ve been married in a movie before, and I tried out wedding dresses for that, which feels so weird. So now, it’s the real deal.” She added: “I didn’t really know what I wanted, I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired. I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress.”
Emma changed into a black Monique Lhuillier dress for the reception after party. She told Vogue: “I love the idea of wearing black for the after party. We love doing something that’s a little unexpected. This looks like it could be totally vintage from 100 years ago, or from now. This is going to be so fun in Idaho at the after party.”
Family attendance
Emma's aunt, Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts, 58, attended with her husband Danny Moder. Instagram page DeuxMoi reported that the couple had been spotted in Idaho before the ceremony.
Emma shared a five-year-old son named Rhodes with ex-boyfriend Garrett Hedlund. She also had a high-profile on-off relationship with American Horror Story co-star Evan Peters from 2012 to 2019.
Social media moments
On Sunday, Emma posted video clips on Instagram showing herself in the bridal gown, walking into a room of cheering and crying loved ones, including her mother Kelly Cunningham and sisters Brit and Kara Elkin, who served as bridesmaids. She also shared a side-profile image showing the dress's lace train. Vogue reported the dress included 25 yards of silk chiffon dyed to a custom colour called “antique rose,” a nod to Emma's middle name.
