A flight attendant has lifted the lid on the gruelling training required for the job, dispelling the myth that it's all about serving drinks and looking good. TikTok user MrsMiva shared a video showing the intense preparation cabin crew undergo, including fire drills and emergency evacuations.
The clip, believed to be from training footage, depicts a cabin filled with smoke as crew members practise evacuating passengers. MrsMiva explained that they must learn to evacuate a plane and hundreds of people within 90 seconds, all while remaining calm and professional.
In addition to fire safety, flight attendants are trained in first aid and how to spot unwell passengers. They also keep up to date with safety and emergency equipment. MrsMiva urged passengers to 'be nice' to staff, emphasising that they work hard to keep everyone safe.
Social media users praised the video as 'really informative', with one commenting: 'Great video and quite instructive. We work hard and we have to stay alert in the event of any type of emergency.'
