Young Sheldon and Hannah Montana star Emily Osment has formally initiated divorce proceedings from her husband, musician Jack Anthony, after three years of marriage. The filing was submitted in Los Angeles on 28th June, with court documents listing the date of separation as the same day.
The 32-year-old actress cited the standard reason of 'irreconcilable differences' as the grounds for the split. According to the legal paperwork, Osment is seeking to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support to either party, indicating a desire for a clean financial break.
A Private Union Comes to an End
The couple's relationship was notably private from its inception. They first sparked romance rumours in late 2020 before quietly tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in 2021, away from the public eye. Their union was largely kept out of the spotlight, with both parties maintaining a low profile regarding their personal lives.
This discretion has continued through their separation, with neither Osment nor Anthony having made public statements on social media or through representatives regarding the divorce filing.
Thriving Career Amid Personal Change
Professionally, Osment continues to enjoy significant success in her acting career. She is currently starring in the popular CBS comedy series Young Sheldon, a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory, where she plays the character of Mandy McAllister.
Her career began as a child actress, with her breakthrough role coming as Lilly Truscott in the Disney Channel phenomenon Hannah Montana, alongside Miley Cyrus. She has since built a diverse portfolio spanning television, film, and music.
Anthony, primarily known as a bass player, has maintained a lower public profile throughout their relationship.
The dissolution of this marriage marks Osment's first divorce. The court has yet to schedule further proceedings in the matter.
