British actress Emily Atack was spotted enjoying a relaxed stroll with her young son this week, presenting a stark contrast to her recent high-fashion lingerie campaign that has set social media abuzz.
A Chic Yet Casual Family Moment
The 36-year-old television star bundled up against the British weather on Wednesday as she headed out for a walk with her 19-month-old son, Barney. Cutting a chic figure, Emily layered a long black coat over a simple white jumper and floaty patterned trousers. She accessorised with black sunglasses and slicked her blonde hair back for the low-key outing, showing off her natural beauty by going completely make-up free.
Emily welcomed Barney in June 2024 with her scientist fiancé, Alistair Garner, 40. The actress, best known for her role in the Disney+ adaptation of Jilly Cooper's Rivals, appeared comfortable and content during this everyday family moment.
From Motherhood to 'The Duchess'
This casual outing comes shortly after Emily revealed a dramatically different side of herself in a sizzling new campaign for luxury lingerie brand Agent Provocateur. For their SS26 collection, Emily plays 'The Duchess' in a series of eye-popping, bondage-themed images that directly reference her role in Rivals.
The campaign, shot at Camfield Place in Hertfordshire, features the actress in an array of provocative lingerie sets, with several snaps showing her wielding a riding crop. One particularly striking ensemble paired black lace with knee-high boots and a horse riding hat, with Emily showcasing the look by straddling a chair.
A Creative Collaboration
Speaking about the campaign, Emily expressed her enthusiasm for the project. 'I've always loved Agent Provocateur as a brand, but had no idea there was such an incredible, creative team bringing it all to life,' she said. 'From our first lunch meeting to a brilliantly fun afternoon in Soho trying on lingerie to our shoot day at Camfield Place, I not only felt like I was part of that team but also felt entirely happy about trusting the process.'
Creative director Sarah Shotton explained the inspiration behind choosing Emily for the campaign. 'I was up North when Rivals came out, with its brilliant cast and costumes, and I just fell in love with all things British once again,' she revealed. 'SS26 is very late-1980s, it's over the top and really fun, with lots of fabulous prints and fabrics. We needed someone bold, British and utterly gorgeous to bring it to life; it could only ever have been Emily for the campaign.'
Navigating Public Scrutiny
The provocative shoot has reignited discussions about Emily's physique, with some social media followers speculating about potential weight-loss jab usage. Similar comments emerged during the festive season when Emily shared a Christmas carousel of photos on Instagram, prompting both criticism and defence from her fanbase.
Emily has been candid about the pressure new mothers face regarding their post-pregnancy bodies. Speaking on Jamie Laing's Great Company podcast in 2024, she shared her perspective. 'There's something quite liberating about having a baby. Your body goes through so much and you genuinely look at your body as a completely different vessel,' she explained.
The actress expressed frustration with societal expectations, noting that after giving birth, 'the first thing people say to you is, when are you going to get back in the gym?' She responded with humour and defiance, stating, 'Are you kidding? I've just created a human, I am exhausted! I've just tried to push a human out of me and had it ripped out of my stomach. The last thing I want to do is go to the gym.'
Embracing Motherhood on Her Own Terms
Emily revealed that she has actually gained weight since giving birth and is embracing this phase of motherhood without rushing to conform to traditional beauty standards. 'I'm not back at the gym at the minute,' she admitted. 'I've actually put on more weight since giving birth. I'm just enjoying this bit.'
This honest approach to post-pregnancy body image contrasts sharply with the glamorous, sculpted figure she presents in the Agent Provocateur campaign, highlighting the multifaceted nature of modern celebrity motherhood.
Emily's career continues to flourish alongside her family life. Her role as upwardly mobile character Sarah Stratton in the hit Disney+ series Rivals included a memorable topless tennis scene that captured audience attention. Now, with her latest fashion campaign and candid discussions about motherhood, Emily Atack remains a compelling figure in British entertainment, navigating the complexities of public life with both glamour and authenticity.
