Victoria Beckham has publicly shown support for her son Brooklyn amid reports that his godfather, Elton John, has intervened in a family rift. The fashion designer, 51, 'liked' a video posted by Brooklyn, 26, showing him cooking pasta with seawater on a yacht.
The olive branch comes after months of speculation that Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, have been estranged from the Beckham family, missing major events such as Victoria and David's birthdays. Elton John, a longtime friend of the Beckhams, reportedly acted as mediator during a lunch with the couple in Cannes, France.
A source told The Sun that Elton, 78, is 'utterly neutral' in the dispute and simply wants everyone to be happy. The singer, who is godfather to Brooklyn and his brother Romeo, encouraged the couple to 'patch things up' with his parents. Elton and his husband David Furnish reportedly find the situation 'terribly sad' and have gently suggested that life is too short for feuds.
Elton picked up the bill for the lavish lunch, which included the restaurant's signature lobster linguine costing £190. Nicola later paid tribute to Elton on Instagram, posting a photo of herself in the bath set to his song 'Cold Heart'. The Beckhams have not commented on the reports.
