Ellie Goulding hints she has dated women, saying 'it works every time'

Ellie Goulding has suggested she has dated women, describing her relationships with men as 'toxic, fleeting and passionate'. The pregnant singer, 39, made the comments during an appearance on Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader's reality show Love Thy Nader on Disney+.

In scenes filmed last summer, Brooks, 28, fresh from a breakup, joked about dating women. 'Maybe I'll go the other way,' she said, to which Ellie replied: 'That's what I do. It works every time.' It is unclear if the singer was being serious.

Ellie, who is expecting her first child with actor boyfriend Beau Minniear, shared her views on love: 'I think the most exciting love comes for a reason, and it's toxic and fleeting and passionate... It's all great song material.' She added: 'We should just appreciate it as the moment that it is.'

The remarks were made before she was linked to Beau in July. Ellie announced her pregnancy in December 2025 at the Fashion Awards. She has a four-year-old son, Alfred, with ex-husband Caspar Jopling, from whom she separated privately.

Ellie has previously dated Radio 1 presenter Greg James, musician Skrillex, actor Jeremy Irvine, and McFly drummer Dougie Poynter. She also had a brief fling with Niall Horan but denied ever dating Ed Sheeran.
