Elle Season 2 Confirmed: Filming Complete on Legally Blonde Prequel

Prime Video has confirmed that the Legally Blonde prequel series 'Elle' will return for a second season, with filming already completed. The announcement was made before the first season even premiered, signaling strong confidence in the show.

Season 2 Filming Wrapped

Jacob Moskovitz, who plays Miles in the series, revealed to ScreenRant earlier this month that filming for Season 2 is done. 'We just finished filming. I can tell you that we have a wonderful castmate joining us, which is public information,' he said. 'Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is amazing to work with. I'm really excited for everyone to see her performance and what she brings to the world.'

What to Expect in Season 2

Showrunner Caroline Dries confirmed that the second season is set directly after the events of the first season's cliffhanger. 'We get to explore Elle continuing to be a fish out of water, finding new dynamics as her world opens up, and we explore crises going on in greater Seattle,' she said. June Diane Raphael, who plays Elle's mother, added that Season 2 is 'even better' than the first, stating, 'It's just more, and everybody's so locked in that I think it's even better.'

Timeline and Future Seasons

With about six years between the events of 'Elle' Season 1 and the original 'Legally Blonde' film, there is ample room for further storytelling. However, there is no news yet regarding a possible Season 3. The first season, set in 1995, follows Elle Woods (Lexi Minetree) as she navigates high school, years before attending Harvard Law School.

Fan Reactions

The debut season has divided audiences. One fan wrote, 'Maybe I'm just the right audience for it, being an older Gen Z woman and all, but I loved it, lmfao.' Another remarked, 'How did they think they could have Legally Blonde before she got into law? It is half of the movie's name.' A third added, 'I'm actually really enjoying it! much more than I thought I would. I think its doing exactly what it set out to do. And the lead actress is perfect, she's so cute and plays Elle perfectly.' However, some critics questioned the need for a prequel, with one saying, 'Like, what's the point of a prequel... Elle's major character development and journey happens in Legally Blonde so before that its just... rich kids doin' stuff? I don't get it.'

'Elle' Season 1 is now streaming on Prime Video.
