TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise has shared her thoughts on her ex-boyfriend Dan Edgar's new relationship with Chloe Lewis, describing it as 'cute' despite previously feeling threatened by their closeness. In an interview with the Daily Mail on Friday, the 25-year-old reality star addressed the romance, which was confirmed earlier this week.
Ella's Verdict on Dan and Chloe
Ella, who ended her on-and-off relationship with Dan, 35, in January 2025 — just a week before entering the Big Brother house — cited trust issues as the reason for the split. Speaking about Dan and Chloe's new relationship, she remarked, 'I think it's cute.' However, she admitted that during her time with Dan, she had felt uneasy about his bond with Chloe.
The interview also featured Ella's castmates Harry Derbidge, 32, and Dani Imbert, 28, who joined her in discussing the challenges of dating in Essex. The trio jokingly described the local dating scene as 'incestuous,' noting how small the community is.
Essex Dating Drama
Dani commented, 'That just sums Essex up. Essex is such a small place — it's impossible to date someone that hasn't got with someone that you know. It's our reality.' Harry added, 'It's always a hard one. It's never easy to see someone go with someone that you've been with. But, you know, [it's] a lesson, it makes you a bigger person and a lot stronger.'
The trio also gave hints about the upcoming season of TOWIE, which is largely filmed in Vietnam. Harry promised, 'There's a lot of drama, a lot of arguments [and] a lot of snappy behaviour.' Ella and Dani agreed that being away from home comforts added to the tension.
Friendship Repairs
Despite the drama, the new season also sees Ella and Harry mending their friendship after a falling out at his 30th birthday party in 2024. Harry admitted that he had shared information about Ella and Dan's relationship with the 'Girl Band,' leading to the rift. He said, 'I feel like it's like a good progression [in this series], like I've always had a lot of love for Ella, and I know that we've had our differences. But we have never argued to the point that it's never, could never return. In this series, you will see us obviously get a little bit closer, like we spent a lot of time with each other as well away from the show now. I feel like we're on the road [to being friends again]. I mean being in the same room right now.'
The new season of The Only Way Is Essex airs on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
