Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is set for a new love story in EastEnders with unexpected newcomer Clive Masters, played by Jason Durr. The character arrives as Walford's new councillor amid the community centre facing closure.
Linda's Romantic History
Linda has endured a string of heartbreaks, losing her true love Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) in 2022 due to Janine Butcher's scheming, and more recently being rejected by Max Branning (Jake Wood) who chose Cindy Beale. She had a brief fling with Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp), but nothing lasting.
Clive Masters Arrives
Clive Masters, played by Jason Durr (known for his role as David Hide in Casualty), takes over as local councillor after Ian Beale's drink-driving charge. He appears on screen next week as the community centre faces closure. Following Linda's sober dance lesson at the centre going awry, she fears it will shut down.
Linda, whose recovery from alcoholism was supported by the centre, seeks advice from Ian Beale. Ian arranges a meeting with Clive, and Linda feels an immediate attraction. After rallying Walford women to save the community centre, Clive shows up at Peacock Palace to help.
Linda's mother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) notices the chemistry and plays matchmaker. Despite Elaine's past interference, this match may succeed.
Jason Durr said: 'Working with the wonderful Kellie has been an absolute joy and pleasure from day one. All the cast, crew and production staff have been incredibly generous, welcoming and good-humoured. I'm excited for audiences to meet Clive and see what's in store.'
