EastEnders' Karen Taylor Returns After 2 Years

Lorraine Stanley made an unexpected return to EastEnders as Karen Taylor on Monday, June 22, 2026, appearing via a phone call with Chelsea Fox, played by Zaraah Abrahams. The episode, available on BBC iPlayer from 6am and airing at 7:30pm, saw Chelsea seeking information about Sheila Atkins, the grandmother of serial killer Gray Atkins.

Plot Background

Chelsea had reached out to Sheila after her son Jordan was knocked down by Ian Beale. Sheila is the grandmother of Gray Atkins, who killed wife Chantelle, Tina Carter, and Kush Kazemi. Initially wary of Sheila's involvement in Jordan's life, Chelsea's fears eased after a meeting, but unsettling text messages from Sheila prompted her to investigate further.

Karen's Warning

Chelsea contacted Karen, who had previously kept her grandchildren Mack and Mia away from Sheila. When Chelsea called, she reached Karen's voicemail. Later, Jordan, home from hospital, answered a return call from Karen. Although Jordan did not speak, Karen could be heard warning Chelsea that Sheila was 'always close' to Gray and that Gray could 'do no wrong' in her eyes.
