EastEnders actress Heather Peace has spoken about her character Eve Unwin's departure from Walford, describing the storyline as 'precious'. Eve left the Square after Ravi Gulati spared her life following an attempt by Nish Panesar to have her killed.
Nish discovered Eve's affair with his wife Suki Panesar and attacked her with a bottle. He then ordered his son Ravi to kill Eve and dispose of her body. Eve managed to escape initially, but Ravi later recaptured her. However, she convinced him to break free from his father's control, and Ravi allowed her to live on condition she leave Walford forever.
In an Instagram post, Peace wrote: 'Sukeve reveal day. The secret is out! Nish knows! I love this story and the time and care that’s been taken by all the team @bbceastenders.' She added: 'Suki’s story has resonated with so many from what I’ve seen. The representation has meant a lot too through Eve presenting the way she does.'
Peace said she felt 'blessed' to have worked with the cast and crew, noting: 'It’s been a precious thing, certainly for me, having not seen a love story like this when I was growing up.' Fans responded with speculation about whether Peace has left the show permanently.
