EastEnders Fans Slam Unrealistic Gray Atkins Prison Detail
EastEnders Fans Slam Gray Atkins Prison Plot

EastEnders has aired explosive scenes involving Ian Beale and Gray Atkins. Ian was recently handed an eight-month prison sentence for driving under the influence and knocking down Chelsea Fox's young son Jordan, whose father is Gray.

Ian's Prison Struggles

Ian has struggled to adjust to prison life, especially after coming face-to-face with Gray. In Wednesday's episode, Ian faced intimidation from other inmates and was left shaken after an altercation.

At first, Gray made an ominous threat to Ian, revealing he knew Ian was in prison for hitting his child with a car. After Ian explained and apologised, Gray appeared to have a change of heart, protecting Ian from other inmates. However, viewers suspect this is part of a manipulation tactic.

Viewers Call Out Unrealistic Detail

Gray, who killed three people (Chantelle Atkins, Kush Kazemi, and Tina Carter) from 2019 to 2022, has been at HMP Woodhurst since his crimes came to light. Ian has now joined him there, but fans have slammed the detail as unrealistic.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "It is silly Gray & Ian in same area in prison #EastEnders". Another fan wrote: "The way it makes no logical sense whatsoever that Ian is sharing a prison with not only a serial killer but also Jordan's father. Ian accidently hit Jordan from behind whilst being over the limit whilst Gray Atkins murdered 3 innocent people. #EastEnders."

Another comment read: "Why is ian in the same prison as a literal serial killer? that would never happen". A different account added: "As much as I predicted this 2-3 months ago - there's no way on gods green earth that Ian would be sharing the same prison as a serial killer and the father of his victim. Such a missed opportunity not having a Kheerat and Gray reunion #EastEnders."

Another viewer said: "Ian in the same prison as Gray?? The serial killer dad of the boy who he's in prison because of?? Be real... #EastEnders."

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
